Recommended Reading - Charming New Children's Book by Tasha Paley

Tasha Paley, member of the Executive Board of the UFT Players, has written and illustrated a new children's book titled Whatever Weather Would I Have If I Could Rule the Weather? The 36 page paperback  is available from Amazon and has received 5 star reviews (like this one) from readers:

"Tasha Paley's lively, colorful illustrations and winsome text
make this a fun read-aloud for young children.
Engage your child's imagination, explore rhymes,
find fanciful creatures in each drawing, or just enjoy the word play.
Dedicated to "the child in all of us" this book is a worthy addition to home or classroom libraries.

Recommended Reading for Teachers & Students

Bob Zaslow's (aka Mr. Z) new book, Rap-Notes - Shakespeare's Greatest Hits (Vol. 1) has been published by Xlibris press. In the book, Zaslow, a teacher, member of the UFT Players and playwright, summarizes five of  Shakespeare's great plays in the book: Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

But the author, "In an effort to turn on middle-school and high-school kids to William Shakespeare's glorious poetic language and brilliant thinking" has written the summaries in an unusual way...they’re raps. They all rhyme, and they’re meant to be read with a funky beat.

Have fun reading and using this inventive and engaging  book in your own classrooms! It  is available for purchase in hardcover, softcover and eBook forms online at  Amazon,  Barnes and Noble and the publisher's site.
