Polsky’s Publications Get Green Light!

Milton Polsky, co-chair of the UFT Players, has some books coming out that our members might find useful for work or recreation.

Players Press of Studio City, California is publishing Milt’s book, Retirees, Improvise and Energize! in two volumes: Enjoying the Basics and Advanced Activities, including Role-Playing and Making Revues. The book grew out of Milt’s experiences shepherding the Brookdale Drama Project for Senior Adults and his current teaching in the UFT Si Beagle Retiree Program. Says Milt, “Lots of people love to create scenes and situations from their lives and imagination, using their own made-up dialogue—and by doing so, have creative enjoyment working in groups.

A Shakespeare Trilogy, being published by Puck Press, is a collection of three short apocryphal tales reimagining how the Bard wrote three of his plays with the help of his two daughters and a Jewish merchant, a stranger, he meets in London. The three plays originally were produced last year by the UFT Players under the direction of Suzanne Lamberg and Elizabeth Rosen.

Milt’s poem, “Rumbling Down Bleecker!” will be published in And Then, a literary journal. Milt read the poem aloud last year as part of testimony before the NYC City Council Transportation Committee to support regulation of tour buses in residential areas.
